When you configure the Similarweb MCP server in Claude, it can request live data from Similarweb during your conversation, so every answer is backed by real, up-to-date digital intelligence rather than static training data.
What do I need to get started?
You need a Similarweb account with API access and a Claude account. Add Similarweb from Claude's connector list, approve the connection with your Similarweb login, and you're done. No API key, no coding. Full instructions are available in our developer documentation.
Which Similarweb data can I access through Claude?
The MCP integration provides access to 75+ endpoints, including website traffic and engagement metrics, traffic sources and channel mix, audience demographics, keyword and SEO data, competitive analysis, referral data, mobile app metrics (active users, downloads, sessions, revenue), and Amazon retail intelligence. Data access is governed by your Similarweb subscription.
Is this the same as the Excel or Google Sheets integration?
It's fundamentally different. Excel and Google Sheets integrations pull raw data into cells, so you do the analysis yourself. The Claude integration is conversational: you ask a question in plain English, and Claude fetches the relevant Similarweb data, interprets it, and gives you a structured, actionable response. It's less about data access and more about having a data analyst available 24/7.
Does this use up my Similarweb Data credits?
Yes, each data request Claude makes through the MCP server will use data credits from your Similarweb plan, the same as any other API call. You can monitor your usage in your Similarweb account dashboard.
