Rathaus AC vs FLApp: Future Lab Aachen App Usage & Stats
Das Rathaus ist das bedeutendste weltliche Bauwerk der Stadt Aachen. Generationen seit Karl dem Großen haben es geprägt und ihre Spuren hinterlassen. Der Kulturbetrieb der Stadt Aachen bietet mit dieser App die Möglichkeit, mit moderner Technik in die mehr als 1200 Jahre alte Geschichte des Aachener Rathauses einzusteigen und das Rathaus in seinem heutigen Zustand kennen zu lernen.
Besonders erwähnenswert:
- Möglichkeit eines Rundganges durch alle Räume mit Hilfe von 360°-Aufnahmen. Dabei können auch Räume besichtigt werden, die der Öffentlichkeit sonst nicht zugänglich sind (Zimmer des Oberbürgermeisters oder der beeindruckende Dachstuhl).
- Das Glockenspiel, das sonst nur in bestimmten Intervallen ertönt, kann angehört werden.

The app is GPS-based. A dynamic map shows the current location. Steles in the city mark the stations and can notify you of their proximity using iBeacon signals. Digital 3D objects in augmented reality are available at selected stations.
The trip starting at the cathedral, passing the Audimax, and finishing at the RWTH main building is 1.3 km long.
We recommend downloading the app via WiFi at home. You can also download it on-site using the Aachen WiFi network.
