Heart_Rhythm vs AFib Manager Usage & Stats
This App is useful to know of your stroke risk, by recording of your heart rhythm on the graph.
With our passion that we want to reduce cardiogenic cerebral embolism (CCE) as many as possible, we developed this app.
The major cause of CCE is atrial fibrillation (Af). There are the established means of prevention and care before CCE onset.
However, the problem is that Af is often without symptoms or a little symptom; therefore, few patients undergoes appropriate treatment.
We wish more and more patients with Af are undergoing appropriate treatment as many as possible with the use of this app.
How to use this App.
*Record your heart rhythm by iPhone camera and check your stroke risk.
Please place your tip of index or middle finger on the camera lens.
Keep your fingertips relax and not to move while monitoring heart rhythm.
Screen shot of your heart rhythm is taken when the heart rhythm graph is stabilized,
and you can check of your stroke risk by comparing your pulse record against
irregular pulse record.
If irregular intervals were observed, please consult with a primary-care doctor.
Normal pulse ( called sinus rhythm ) is made by regular contraction of heart.
In contrast, arrhythmia cased by atrial fibrillation (AF) is made by irregular contraction
of heart.
*Know the mechanism of the Stroke and calculate the risk for an onset of Stroke.
Atrial fibrillation (Af) is a very common arrhythmia. Prevalence of Af is increasing as aging.
This is reported that some 50s may have Af, 10 percent of 80s have Af.
Af promotes blood clotting ( thrombus ) in heart.
Thrombus in heart sometimes blocks suddenly cerebrovascular on blood flow.
This is called the cardiogenic cerebral embolism (CCE).
CCE is one type of severe stroke that has high fatality rate. If survival, CCE patient
often has serious sequela.
Af is the most critical risk of CCE. Fortunately, now we have established means of
prevention and cure of Af and CCE if finding Af before the onset.
Prevention is better than cure. The most important thing is early diagnosis and early
consult to the appropriate hospital.
Calculate the risk using CHA2DS2-VASc Score, and you will know your annual risk rate
and lifetime risk rate of developing CCE..
