GLOCAL Study Abroad vs SIMPLE.EDU mStudent Usage & Stats
This project investigates the impact of a semester-long Study Abroad (SA) experience in a non-Anglophone European country. More specifically, it examines a) the interactions between Spanish university students and the host community members, and b) the development of English and the local language over the semester abroad. Additionally, one of the main objectives of the present study is to design an application to a) obtain rich and immediate data from the students’ experience, and b) to send students advice and tasks to do in order to maximise the effects of their SA experience and to raise awareness about the nature of their interactions.

The SIMPLE.EDU mStudent application is intended for all students who expect active contact with the university and want to have access to the most up-to-date information. Each logged-in student receives access to a list of their grades, the current class schedule, the current status of settlements, assigned bank accounts, the calculated average, as well as messages and notifications from the university. The application works with the university's SIMPLE.EDU platform
