The purpose of the proposed project ARCHAEORAMA: Excavations Multimodal Surveying, Documentation, Enhancement and Promotion System is the research and development of an innovative platform, which aspires to give a new dimension to the carrying out and mapping of the archaeological research as well as to its communication with the scientific but also the general public, transferring the experience and the knowledge of the excavations in an intelligible and interesting way on the spot and using state-of-the-art technologies. The system that will be designed and developed for this project will be installed and will operate for a trial period in two emblematic sites in the Cyclades: the archaeological site of Delos, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and the most important city-castle in the Cyclades during the Middle Ages, the Castle of Apalirou in Naxos, which was the main center of the imperial administration in Aegean
