Welcome to the Literacy Tree app. It’s completely free to download and can be used by anyone with a Free, Individual or School Membership! Designed and built to support work-life balance and to help with teachers’ cognitive load, it’s an easy-to-access addition to the suite of book-based resources already on offer from the team at Literacy Tree. Here's a quick rundown of everything you can do inside the app… Adapt: Easily annotate any Literacy Tree plan in your account – no more printing or labour-intensive replanning. You can finally plan with ease knowing you can access and edit Literacy Tree book-based resources from anywhere. Just add an annotation bubble anywhere you like on the plan, and simply click on it to view or edit. The autosave function means you’ll never lose your work, and the edited plan will be available straight away in your account on the Literacy Tree website to print off or view. Not got the right resource in your account? Just navigate to our site and add the required resource and it’ll pop up in your account straight away ready to annotate! Capture Take a photo on your device of any of your pupils’ work, and save it straight to the app! Have children’s work available immediately and anywhere, by tagging the work to specific pupils, books, and even RATE standards – transforming assessment and moderation meetings once and for all! You can either save your samples straight to your device or you can upload them to the site where they could be added to our ever-growing ‘Work Samples’. You can even scroll through a selection of the very best Work Samples on the app Home Page too! Assess Easily assess pupils’ Writing and Reading using RATE. Create a class list and choose from one of the six assessment points across each year group. Once you’ve selected each standard (either met, partially met or not yet met), you can finalise the assessment for that period and the app will automatically calculate the Writing or Reading Standard (either emerging, developing or securing). Not ready to finalise? You can return to the assessment any time which will be autosaved on your device. Link work samples to standards, and transform assessment and moderation meetings – no more lugging books backwards and forwards between meetings! You’ll now have each child’s evidence at your fingertips to show when they’ve met each standard. You can even view and edit RATE assessments on the Literacy Tree website in your account, as well as create, edit and update class lists and year groups. Please note, RATE is only available to users with an Individual or School Membership. For purposes of data protection and compliance with GDPR, we recommend that the Literacy Tree app is installed and used only on school-approved devices.
