v_trace vs Geo Trace: Traceroute App Usage & Stats
v_trace is a visual traceroute application that shows* a list of the network servers from your machine to a target ip address or hostname and it attempts to place each to their corresponding location on a map.
The map display consists of a pin for each hop, the color of the pins change from green to red reflecting the latency of the hop.
*The ability to show and determine hops depends on your network's routing policies, if the packets are filtered no hops can be determined.

Geo Trace — a simple visual traceroute tool and network diagnostic app for WiFi and mobile networks, displaying possible routes and measuring transit delays of network IPv4 or IPv6 packets. The history of the route is recorded as the round-trip times of the packets received from each successive host (remote node) in the route. The sum of the mean times in each hop is a measure of the total time spent to establish the connection and perform a ping. Geo Trace traces the network route unless all sent packets are lost more than twice. You can check the speed and stability of your connection, as well as set up your home and corporate WiFi networks that use different types of connections: 4G, 5G, LTE, DNS server or ISP equipment. The utility adapts to any environment.
Geo Trace features a geo map for node geolocation and visualization of every ping attempt. It also works with VPN connections.
