Santorini Volcano vs Nisyros Geopark Usage & Stats

The Nisyros Geopark Mobile App serves as a digital guide, providing users the opportunity to explore all 24 distinctive geosites through engaging material. The application highlights sites of geological, cultural, and ecological significance across the island of Nisyros and the surrounding islets encompassed within the Geopark’s territory. Users can explore the stunning volcanic landscape using the app's comprehensive content, which features high-quality photos, panoramas, videos, and the digital map of the Geopark. Consequently, it functions as a valuable digital pocket guide accompanied by the Nisyros Volcano app. The development of the Nisyros Geopark app was a collaborative effort involving diverse expertise and contributions, funded by the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy. The application was created under the supervision of Scientific Team of the Laboratory of Physical Geography, Department of Geology & Geoenvironment, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), coordinated by Associate Professor Paraskevi Nomikou. On the creative front, George Pehlivanides (hands-on.studio) contributed to the research, art direction, branding, UX/UI design, and project management. On the technical side, EContent Systems P.C. provided the support for the mobile application development.
