De Energy Control methode ontwikkeld door Stans van der Poel brengt de persoonlijke omgang met de energiehuishouding in kaart en leert daar vervolgens op handelen. Ieder traject begint met een uitgebreide intake waarbij meerdere facetten van de gezondheid aan bod komen, denk hierbij onder andere aan medicijnen, klachten, sportverleden en mogelijk (lopende) behandelingen. Daarnaast wordt de klant getest op verschillende situaties in rust, gevolgd door een inspanningstest volgens de Energy Controle methode op de Energy Control testfiets.
