Currently on its 15th edition , it has become a standard health practitioner's medicine reference guide, respected for accuracy of content and independence from the pharmaceutical industry. It is now available on this mobile application and supported by a web portal (https://samf-app.com/) which subscribers will have access to. The SAMF application and Book is a joint initiative of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Cape Town and the South African Medical Association (SAMA). With this app verified Medical Practitioners order and review Ampath pathology test results for their patients as soon as they are available. Only Medical Practitioners who are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) can use this app. To access your patients’ test results, you will need to verify your HPCSA registration details, South African ID or passport number and mobile number while registering for the app. Once you have provided all required information and it has been verified, all your Ampath patient test results will appear in the app automatically as soon as they are available.
