GNSS Log App vs FastXY Usage & Stats
GNSS Log app is designed to compile and produce observation logs for Static GNSS (GPS) Observations. The old way of paper Logs, fillable PDFs and scratch pads are no place for consistent, accurate project documentation.
Whether you perform just a few or hundreds of observations a year. GNSS Log App gives you the tools to eliminate blunders and transcription errors. The layout is simple and intuitive and promotes a logical workflow. The app contains a user built library that can be used for each observation. Library Items can be imported and exported to other users. Support for fixed height and collaspible tripods, antenna extensions and integrated antenna/receiver configurations are provided.
Monuments can be manually entered or imported directly from the public National Geodetic Survey’s Integrated Database (IDB), OPUS (Online User Positioning Service) share database and the public COOPS database (Center for Oceanic and Operational Products).
Each observation can be timed, and display a local notification when the planned observation session is complete. The details of the equipment used can be added and edited before, during and after the observation. Weather data is automatically recorded at the beginning and at the end of each observation. Please note however, this App does not communicate with your GPS equipment in any way.
The app allows you to import the text from an OPUS Solution email to populate observed position, actual observation times and other details of the session. The OPUS Solution can also be included in the Observation Log PDF output.
You can import pictures and named them according to NGS guidelines and attach them to the final PDF.
Using the device’s motion sensor and camera, you can collect an amazing Visibility Diagram which is essential to project managers.
The Observation log can be customized with your own logo and company name.
The final Observation Log can be exported to a PDF where you can save to you files, email, message or airdrop.
This app is an environmentally sensitive replacement to the paper Observation logs of the past. GNSS Log App is designed for iPhone and iPad.

FastXY is a high-accuracy GNSS data collection app designed for use with Eos GNSS receivers (www.eos-gnss.com). Collect point, line, polygon data with submeter or centimeter (RTK) survey-grade accuracy or use its stake-out feature to stake points to survey-grade accuracy. After data is collected, upload your data via CSV, shp, DXF/DWG to your favorite GIS/CAD.
Key features:
-Setup feature/attribute/value pick lists for easy field data entry. Collect ad hoc data in the field without setting up ahead of time.
-Stakeout points loaded from DXF/DWG, CSV or shp files.
-Collect raw data for post-processing and auto-submit to OPUS from your mobile device (https://www.ngs.noaa.gov/OPUS/)
-World-wide 3D base map for visual reference in the field.
-Doesn’t require an internet connection. For FastXY description in the app store, I suggest this:
