Hygge Stories: Kids Storybooks vs The Archmage Tower Usage & Stats

• Hygge Stories are interactive children’s stories. • Everything is hand drawn and handwritten. • The child is the main character. All the way through Hygge Stories the child makes simple choices, thereby participating in forming the story. That way, you can get a new story every time and you can talk about the choices made. • There are small learnings and themes in Hygge Stories such as friendship, shapes, fruits, vegetables, seasons, weather and feelings. That way you can choose the topic that best matches what currently interests the child in daily life. • The characters are all the animals, you can think of. • Hygge Stories are perfect for storytelling, reading aloud, bedtime stories and dialogic reading. They are a great way to combine “the good old stuff” with the digital. We are living in the digital age, and these stories can help turn on imagination without having to turn off what currently draws us. They are traditional content in a modern format. • Hygge Stories’ expression is human, relatable, real, and honest, and they inspire kids to draw. They show that “not perfect” is ok – Hygge Stories are deliberately imperfect. My own 3 kids draw a lot more after I have introduced Hygge Stories. • I love to read with my kids - the peace and contemplation it brings in a busy weekday. Hygge Stories are a pedagogically sound alternative to regular books. It is not a question of either or, but rather of having both… • Hygge Stories can help create healthy digital habits. “Screen time” can be so much more than passive entertainment. With Hygge Stories the screen is a facilitator for what goes on around the screen, namely dialogue and “hygge” (a Danish word for everything that’s cozy, warm and “feel-good”). • Appetite for reading and reading skills are falling, which has consequences for children’s language, and thereby social abilities, ability to make friends and express feelings… • At an early age, and in a fun and playful manner, Hygge Stories can strengthen the appetite for reading, language and creativity… • Reading and dialogue breed words, and language breeds community…. Hygge Stories is directly from me (a mother of four kids) to other parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, caretakers and their kids. I hope the stories will contribute to hygge in many places, at any time of day - in kindergarten, preschool, school, at grandparents’ houses or at home, for a quiet and close time or as good night reading. Siblings can also read along and practice their reading. With many kids in a household, you only need 1 bedtime story with Hygge Stories :-).
