Deploy Pro vs Texas Disaster Portal Usage & Stats
Deploy Pro is designed as an app with CERT teams in mind but can be used by any search and rescue team or other first responders. The map feature allows users to see pins (user locations) and markers (locations set by users) in the area they are responding to. There are 30 different user pins, making it easy to designate team colors and 20 shareable map markers that users can place on the map to designate important locations. The map markers are grouped into 5 categories: Hazards, Command, Victims, Damage, Search X. Markers by default are set to the user's location, but can also be manually placed by dragging the map, or typing in an address. Users can add notes to markers and also share the lat/long with other users if needed.
The reference guide is sourced from the FEMA Basic CERT course, and it includes all the information that might be needed when in the field, in addition to other relevant topics like Knots and Hazmat markings.
The app also includes a triage counter to track victim counts by triage color, a built-in camera for damage reports, and a notepad to store information and share with other users.

Texas All-Hazards Emergency Response, Recovery and Disaster Information via TDEM
To further improve public access to disaster response information and assistance resources, the Texas legislature directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to develop and deploy a Disaster Web Portal in accordance with H.B. 2325 Sec. 418.057 which requires the web portal to:
(1) provide disaster information to the public, including information on programs and services available to disaster victims and funding for and expenditures of disaster assistance programs
(2) include information on disaster response and recovery activities
(3) provide information on obtaining assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, state agencies, organized volunteer groups, and any other entities providing disaster assistance
The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) coordinates state emergency management programs that are intended to ensure the state and local government entities respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters, and implement plans and programs to help prevent or lessen the impact of emergencies and disasters. TDEM develops and maintains extensive Crisis Information Management capabilities that are used by state and local jurisdictions to coordinate response and recovery efforts. However, enabling more robust and easily accessible access to disaster information and resources for individual citizens is the objective of this legislation and resulting project.
