Braille Trainer vs PocketBraille - Braille Guide Usage & Stats
This app makes it possible for non-blind people to learn Braille (6- and 8-point "Braille" writing). In the app, you can choose between the German and English program version.
In the German area, all Braille characters of long and shorthand are available. In the English area, Grade 2 braille can be trained. Different areas can be selected for training.
The app supports the "Voice Over" function, also for the braille dots.
In addition, a text in Braille (full writing only) can be translated into readable text (called "blackletter" in the blind area) using a function. If the output should not be visible to bystanders, the output can also be switched off. In case of double braille codes, the corresponding characters are displayed for selection (only available in the English area, e.g. for "ff", "to" and "!").
To create own Braille texts, a text can be entered, which is then output in full Braille (with and without additional black letters). Custom Braille codes for letter sequences are also taken into account (e.g. "SCH" in German or "the" in English).
