Darcy-Weisbach Equations for Hydraulics Fluid Mechanics
In fluid dynamics, the Darcy–Weisbach equation is an empirical equation that relates the head loss or pressure loss due to friction along a given length of pipe to the average velocity of the fluid flow for an incompressible fluid. The equation is named after Henry Darcy and Julius Weisbach.
Darcy-Weisbach equations are used to calculate the major pressure or head loss due to friction in pipes, ducts, or tubes.
Formula:
h = fLv²/2Dg
Where:
h - is the head loss
f - is the friction factor
L - is the pipe length
D - is the pipe diameter
v - is the flow velocity
g - is the acceleration of gravity

Calculations at a circular corner. Here, a circular corner is a right triangle, whose acute vertices are laid on a circle, so that the right angle is outside of that circle. The resulting circular segment is subtracted from the triangle. Enter two of the three lengths of the right triangle a, b and s, as well as the circle radius r. The radius must be larger than the chord length s. Choose the number of decimal places, then click Calculate. The angle is calculated and displayed in degrees.
Calculations at a round corner, or rather in a quarter circle, the most simple form of a round corner. This is the intersecting set of a square with edge length a and a circle with radius a, where one corner of the square is at the center of the circle. The missing piece, the part of the square outside the quarter circle, is also called spandrel. Enter one value and choose the number of decimal places.
