Produced in the UK and used and recommended by the NHS, Cuespeak contains over 10,000 images, 5,000 videos showing target words being spoken and broken down into syllables and sounds, and more than 30,000 spoken prompts. Exercises from any of the fourteen therapy modules can be highly customised to individual needs and combined into a complete bespoke therapy programme which will run automatically at the single press of a button. This enables people even with significant cognitive problems to carry out prolonged, intensive, independent practice to supplement their face-to-face therapy programme. Cuespeak moves beyond traditional 'picture naming' approaches towards a more dynamic 'question and facilitated answer' format which seeks better to emulate the processing demands of conversation. The 30,000+ spoken prompts include questions, spoken feedback on errors and cues designed to elicit spoken production of target words and phrases. New content is added weekly, including up-to-date questions on current affairs. Cuespeak is optimised for use with a Speech & Language Therapist, but can also be used independently. The app can be managed remotely from another location, with the clinician or other helper sending session updates via the internet, and the user sending back results.
