GPS distance tracker for running, walking, hiking, or cycling. This app will map and show your trail as you jog, hike, bike, or walk. It shows the real time distance that you have traveled in both meters and miles, and shows your path on the map in case you want to backtrack. You just tap "Start" to begin tracking your path, and you can either leave the map open to view your current location real time, or press the home key to have the app continue tracking your progress in the background. It also shows the distance from your starting point in a straight line versus how far you have traveled on your path. The following comment is required for applications that can also run in background mode if you continually leave running: "Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life."
