The Nivocheck is a tool to estimate the local avalanche danger level according to Werner Munter method. It enables a clear procedure to analyse the local situation in the areas where no official avalanche bulletin is available as well in cases when an official avalanche bulletin is not published yet.
Various reduction methods are provided as practical decision-making aids.
The Nivocheck is intended to be used by mountain guides and experienced mountaineers.
In the first part, criteria for snow cover formation undergo estimation. The second part questions are to estimate the danger level. Both parts together result into the overall local avalanche danger level.
The resulting avalanche danger level can be combined with elementary, quick check ("beermat") or professional reduction method (ERM / Beermat / PRM) and used as a decision framework.
