The Lost Books of the Bible and The Forgotten Books of Eden
The Lost Books of the Bible by Rutherford H. Platt, Jr., 1926
This is a collection of New Testament Apocrypha, including many works which were admired and read by the early Christians, but which were later excluded from the canonical Bible. It includes accounts of the young Jesus, particularly the Gospel of Mary and the Protevangelion, which provides additional folklore about the birth and youthful adventures of Jesus and which are missing now. Of note are the letters of Paul and Seneca, and the letters of Herod and Pilate, which are most likely a forgery, but add more depth to the question of the historicity of Jesus. There are also a number of non-canonical epistles, such as Laodiceans. Also worth a close read are the three books of the Shepherd of Hermas, which uses apocalyptic and symbolic imagery. This collection is an invaluable selection of portions of the New Testament which illustrates the fluid nature of the early Biblical canon, and provides access to all of the 'spare parts.'
The Forgotten Books of Eden by Rutherford H. Platt, Jr., 1926
This is a popularized translation of the OT pseudepigrapha, quasi-Biblical writings which never achieved canonical status (or inclusion in any of the official Apocrypha). This isn't to say that these documents are forgeries, just that for one reason or another they were not considered part of the Biblical text by the first millenium (C.E.) compilers. This book contains translations of all of the texts found in volume I of the weighty Oxford University Press Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, without any of the apparatus.
You can find here for free such popular books as: The Apostles' Creed, The Shepherd of Hermas, The First Book of Adam and Eve, The Gospel of Nicodemus and many others books which are missing of the Bible!

The Book of Enoch:
The Book of Enoch is an ancient Hebrew apocalyptic religious text that is traditionally attributed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. This book is considered one of the most mysterious and controversial writings in biblical history, containing detailed prophecies, angelic history, and accounts of the Nephilim (giant offspring of fallen angels and human women).
・Origins of demons and fallen angels.
・The Genesis flood’s divine purpose.
・Final judgment and the Messiah’s reign.
・Heavenly visions and celestial mysteries.
・Though excluded from the Bible, early Jewish and Christian communities revered it, and it remains scripture in Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity. Fragments were found in the Dead Sea Scrolls, proving its antiquity.
The Book of Jubilees:
Also called "Little Genesis", this book retells Genesis and Exodus stories with extra details, claiming to be dictated to Moses by angels on Mount Sinai.
・49-year Jubilee cycles as a divine historical framework.
・Origins of Jewish laws (Sabbath, circumcision, dietary rules).
・Expanded patriarchal narratives (Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob).
・Prophecies about Israel and the Messiah.
・Though not in standard Jewish or Christian Bibles, it was preserved in the Dead Sea Scrolls and is respected in Ethiopian Orthodoxy.
The Book of Jasher:
Mentioned in Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18, the Book of Jasher (meaning "The Book of the Upright") expands on biblical events:
・Creation and early human history.
・The Great Flood and Noah’s warnings.
・Detailed stories of Abraham, Joseph, and Moses.
・An alternative account of the Exodus and Jericho’s fall.
The Apocrypha (Deuterocanonical Books):
The Apocrypha refers to ancient biblical books once included in the 1611 King James Bible (KJV) but removed in 1885. These books, still considered scripture by Catholic, Orthodox, and Ethiopian traditions, provide historical, theological, and moral insights from the intertestamental period.
・Additionally, the missing 70 verses of 2 Esdras, which were not included in the KJV Apocrypha but are available in the Cambridge Annotated Study Apocrypha and the NRSV Holy Bible with Apocrypha, are also referenced.
・Apocrypha / Deuterocanonical: Bible's Lost Books includes these books: 1 Esdras, 2 Esdras, Tobit, Judith, Additions to Esther, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, Baruch, the Letter of Jeremiah, Prayer of Azariah, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, Prayer of Manasseh, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, and Laodiceans.
The King James Version (KJV 1611):
The 1611 KJV remains one of the most influential Bible translations. Commissioned by King James I of England, it shaped English Christianity.
Many scholars and believers still consider the KJV 1611 the most authoritative translation of the Word of God.
