This project provides students with a guided introduction to several topics of importance to the analysis of data; these are the: uncertainty inherent in measurements and how that uncertainty affects resultsimportance of examining data visually before trying to characterize it quantitativelycomparison of two data sets to determine if they provide different resultsmodeling of data by linear regressionconsideration of outliers Topics are presented through a series of modules that guide students through the material. Each topic begins with an introduction, followed by several problems, a summary statement and topics for further study. The modules are written for undergraduate students and assume no prior experience with data analysis.
