Pressurization ensures a safe and comfortable environment aboard aircraft flying at high altitudes (typically above 13,000 feet). This is achieved by systematically introducing compressed air into the cabin through an environmental control system.
This app is your companion for monitoring both differential pressure and relative cabin altitude within pressurized aircraft. It features a range of cockpit designs tailored to specific aircraft types, delivering an authentic and educational experience:
TURBOPROP: Perfect for turboprop aircraft (maximum 5.5 ΔP).
CORPORATE JET 8.6PSI: Modeled after a renowned business jet (maximum 8.9 ΔP).
CORPORATE JET 10PSI: Inspired by the fastest business jet (maximum 9.6 ΔP).
AIRLINER LEGACY: Classic design for jet airliners (maximum 9.1 ΔP).
AIRLINER EFIS: Modern airliner interface (maximum 8.6 ΔP).
EFIS: Cutting-edge design for advanced jet airliners (maximum 9.0 ΔP).
Key Features:
Cabin Altitude Gauge (CABIN ALT): Displays cabin altitude in thousands of feet, reflecting the relative altitude inside the aircraft.
Differential Pressure Gauge (DIFF PRESS or ΔP): Shows the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the aircraft in PSI. A higher differential pressure means a lower cabin altitude, ensuring greater passenger comfort.
Example: At 25,000 feet, a differential pressure of 5 PSI results in a cabin altitude of 9,100 feet, while 6 PSI reduces it to a more comfortable 6,700 feet.
Variometer Gauge (CABIN CLIMB): Tracks the rate of cabin altitude change in feet per minute.
Ground Speed Display: Measures ground speed in knots.
Limitations:
GPS Dependency: A strong GPS signal is required. Place your device near a window for the best results. Signal acquisition may take a few minutes.
Mach Indicator Accuracy: This Mach indicator is based on ground speed and altitude instead of true airspeed and temperature, which will result in inaccurate readings.
