Similarweb Quarterly Client Workshop in Brazil
Last month the Similarweb Brazil team held its quarterly client workshop in São Paulo. Professionals from a variety of Brazil’s leading companies came together to discuss the challenges they face in the online digital world. The Workshop included discussion and some “hands-on” activities as participants used their Similarweb Platform accounts to dive into the issues and uncover industry trends and the online behavior of specific customers. The insights gained were then applied to build new strategies and solutions.
After a brainstorming session, two particular challenges were identified:
- How to recognize valuable referrals and affiliates?
- How to best optimize your company’s applications?
The group split into smaller teams and used their Similarweb PRO accounts to analyze the issues. Here are some initial findings:
How to recognize valuable referrals and affiliates
Using Industry Analysis – Leaders by source, we identified the companies with the biggest increase in referral traffic over the past month.
We then analyzed the impact of increased referral traffic on each site’s performance. In the example below for americanas.com.br web traffic, we found that while traffic from referrals increased between July and August 2017, that traffic proved to be of lower quality – with visit duration from referrals decreasing by 14%, pages per visit dropping by 17% and the bounce rate increasing by 24%.
Summary and Next Steps
Each group presented (and defended) their findings and we joined together to discuss how these insights could be applied to their businesses for a stronger online strategy. The combination of discussion, peer learning and data-based insights resulted in a more informed, professional group with new and expanded strategic approach.
