TikTok Shop Growth Outpaces Amazon and Shopify
TikTok may be under fire in the US Congress, but globally, consumers and businesses are embracing the opportunities the social media giant offers.
The recent opening of its seller portal in the US and across Southeast Asia has brought a new sales option to the ecommerce sector and, with it, significant growth to the platform as it outshines both Amazon and Shopify.
TikTok seller portal traffic surges
Visits to all of TikTok’s seller portal subdomains have surged over the last 12 months.
This exponential growth amounts to over 400% YoY on average. This compares to 34% and 8% for Shopify and Amazon, respectively. The US alone saw an average increase of 2745% after the Shop launched in September 2023.
TikTop seller portal sign-ups stomp the competition
Over the last 12 months, estimated sign-ups to TikTok’s seller portal have significantly outpaced both Amazon and Shopify.
TikTok’s seller portal received 1.5X and 11X the sign-ups than Shopify’s and Amazon’s portals, respectively. Vietnam makes up the majority share of TikTok’s sign-ups with 41%. The US, which only recently launched last fall, makes up 8%.
