Key Takeaways
- The spike in views was lower than during the July 2022 event Prime Day; there were 36% fewer page views Oct. 22 than during July’s Prime Day. Consumers may be waiting for further savings on Black Friday.
- While page views were up 210% on July 12 versus the average for the past three weeks, views to all categories were only up 140% on October 11, the first day of the event.
- Consumers seem to be considering future inflation and loss of disposable income in their purchasing decisions; this is evidenced by sales of more expensive items in the Home & Kitchen, DIY & Tools and Health & Personal Care categories than during July.
- Amid concern around rising energy bills, among the fastest-growing subcategories were thermostats, warm loungewear and thermal clothing. Homeware best sellers featured electric blankets.
