HiRoad is an telematics app based insurance that rewards you each month for your good driving. What is “Telematics”? “Telematics” means using the sensors in your Android phone to understand your driving behaviors when you’re on the road. The data from the app is used to calculate your driving scores. These scores tell you what you do well and where you can improve. What sensors does the HiRoad app use? We use your phone’s accelerometer, gyroscope and GPS support to monitor your driving patterns. What Android devices are compatible? We are compatible with most Android devices available on the market. We are not compatible with: Samsung Galaxy Note II HTC One M8 Huawei Ascend BLU Life One XL Droid Maxx 2 ================================= Driving with the HiRoad App How does the app work? Our auto insurance app uses the smart technology in your Android phone to recognize your driving behavior in real time. That data is used to calculate your four HiRoad driving scores. How do the driving scores affect my bill? Unlike traditional car insurance apps, we use your driving scores to give you affordable car insurance. Each month, you have the opportunity to improve your driving scores and earn more rewards. What are the HiRoad driving scores? We calculate the following scores: Distraction-Free–distracted driving is a leading cause of automobile accidents in the US. Our app monitors how well you keep your eyes off your phone and on the road. Driving Patterns–when and how long you drive tells us a lot about your driving. So, if you opt to take the bus to avoid a high-traffic commute, your Driving Patterns score will reflect it. Safe Speeds–our telematics app measures how fast you drive. By not zipping through traffic and sticking to the speed limit, you’ll earn rewards for making the roads safer. Smooth Driving–our app knows when you’re taking tight turns and shifting speeds too fast. Customers who go easy on the brakes and accelerate evenly earn a higher Smooth Driving score. If you score high on all of the above scores, you have a chance to save up to 50% each month. ================================= How to Save with the HiRoad App How do I get my driving data? At the end of each month, you’ll get the “HiRoader Recap”, showing you all the things you did well that month, including where our telematics showed improvements and how much you saved. Had a rough drive? A tough week? That's okay. With the HiRoad app you get tips and challenges to help increase your driving scores, monthly discount and focus on the road. Tips are served up right on the home screen. And the Challenges tab houses all your earned rewards, badges and mindful stats. ================================= Other Cool Features Can I pay my bill on the app? Yes, we offer Android Pay. We also accept major credit or debit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Can I view my policy documents? Yes. We provide you with access to your ID cards, policy information and other important documents. Can I file a claim? Yes. If you’re in an accident, you can upload pictures and file a claim on the HiRoad app. Our Claims team is available 24/7 to resolve your claim as soon as possible. Can I change my policy? Yes. You can apply to add a driver, add a car or update your policy in the HiRoad app. A Customer Care specialist will work with you to complete the policy update. ================================= Not a HiRoader yet?
