In the background, there are the hours (12h and 24h format available according to your smartphone), while in the foreground there are the minutes. You can also choose to have a fixed color as a theme among the 5 available (including total black) in the settings. On the minutes there is a customizable shortcut from the settings. Always On Display mode has the black theme to save battery.
