NRS vs TXAdvance Usage & Stats
The National Relay Service (NRS) is a government initiative that allows people who are deaf, hard of hearing and/or have a speech impairment to make and receive phone calls.
With this app you can currently make calls using the following NRS call options:
- NRS Chat – if you want to type and read your conversation
- Voice Relay – if you are hard to understand on the phone
- NRS Captions – if you can speak but can’t hear clearly
- Video Relay – if you use Auslan
COST
The app and any calls you make while using the app are free. However, the app requires an internet connection and uses data. How you are charged for this data will depend on the plan you have with your service provider.

TxAdvance is a radio frequency transmitter manager that helps you quickly get the best frequencies by scanning the RF spectrum and automatically calculating the intermodulations products of your selected frequencies.
Radio frequency spectrum
The RF scan is using the Software Defined Radio technology which allows quick and precise scan. Just plug a compatible* and inexpensive SDR USB dongle to your phone to start analyzing any part of the RF spectrum from 50 to 1300 MHz with a 5 kHz resolution.
Transmitters coordination
Make sure that all of your transmitters are free of any of intermodulation (2TX3order, 2TX5order, 2TX7order and 3TX3order). Calculation and analysis is automatic.
For each transmitter, you can see its available channels with the amount of noise and the intermodulation status.
You can coordinate an unlimited amount of transmitters from any brand.
Auto mode
TXAdvance can automatically find the best frequencies for your transmitters by analyzing the RF spectrum and avoid intermodulation products.
You can also choose your frequencies manually.

TXAdvance Scan Exchange - TASE
A collaborative worldwide map of scans : anticipate your wireless transmitters coordination by downloading and importing geo-tagged and time-stamped RF spectrum scans from all over the world.
Upload scans directly from TXAdvance to the TASE.
Exclusions lists
User can set bands of frequencies to avoid. It can be TV channels or any custom bands.
Import / Export
Scans and lists of transmitters can be exported and imported for back-up or sharing purposes in proprietary TXA format or CSV format for import in third-party softwares.
To use TXAdvance, you will need :
- an Android phone with OTG support running at least Android 6.0
- an SDR USB dongle with a RTL2832U chipset and R820T2 tuner such as the RTL-SDR blog v3 (Many other models exist)
- a USB OTG cable
- the free SDR driver from Martin Marinov : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=marto.rtl_tcp_andro&hl=fr&gl=US
