Navigame Buoys vs Engine RPM Usage & Stats

Navigame Buoys is an efficient and amusing way to test your skills in recognizing buoys – both for training new sailors as well as keeping the experienced sailors up-to-date. The test is useful for all types of maritime educations, both merchant and leisure. Navigame Buoys is complied with IALA (Maritime Buoyage System) therefore the user must choose if they want to do the test in according to region A or region B. The test is built on the most efficient learning method. Buoys are divided into four levels with increasing in difficulty as you progress. Each level introduces new types of buoys and contains also a repetition of already shown types. Level 1 includes: Starboard Hand Lateral buoys Port Hand Lateral buoys Safe Water Mark Level 2 includes: Cardinal Buoys Level 3 includes: Special Marks Isolated Danger Mark Level 4 includes: Preferred Channel Mark, starboard hand Preferred Channel Mark, port hand Emergency Wreck Buoy Every level includes 10 tasks - each with 3 questions. To pass a level you have to answer at least 24 questions correctly The final test includes 20 tasks with 3 questions each. To pass the final test you must answer correctly on at least 54 questions. Questions on: - Name of buoy type - Appearance - Light characteristics - Flashing lights - Light Reflectors - Application Three types of tasks in The Test: A. You will be given the name of the buoy and must answer correct on: 1. Appearance 2. Flashing lights 3. Light characteristics B. You will be given the appearance of a buoy and must answer correct on: 1. Flashing lights 2. Type/name 3. Light reflectors C. You will be given the flashing light of a buoy and must answer correct on: 1. Type/name 2. Appearance 3. Application Buy and use the index during day or night sailing to verify a buoy. Scroll through and touch the current buoy to see relevant information: Type, appearance, light characteristics, abbreviation in the sea chart, light reflectors and use. Also enclosed is advise on how to pass the buoy correctly. The Index is a powerful support tool for new sailors and a useful instrument even for experienced sailors. The index is complied with IALA (Maritime Buoyage System). Navigame Buoys is produced by Iver C. Weilbach & Co. A/S, Copenhagen. If you want to know more about our company: www.weilbach.com

Measure the RPM of an engine by analyzing the sound it makes. Engine RPM listens to the sound of a running engine and uses advanced signal processing algorithms to extract the frequency of that sound and calculate the RPM. This app is primarily for setup and diagnostics of engines. After setting the the number of cylinders and whether the engine is a 2-stroke or 4-stroke engine, the app can work with any internal combustion engine, from diesel tractors to aircraft engines to motorcycles to chainsaws. To use the app you must set an expected RPM range to guide the analysis algorithms to the correct RPM. A real-time graph of the autocorrelation graph is displayed to help in troubleshooting and adjusting the expected RPM range. The analysis requires a clear sound from the engine without excessive interference from extraneous sounds. Do not expect to read the RPM of an engine while other things are making too much noise at the same time. The analysis also requires that the RPM be stable. It cannot read the RPM of an engine that is rapidly accelerating. For this reason, and because of the need for adjusting the expected RPM range, this app should not be considered a drop-in replacement for an operational tachometer. Setup options include update periods from 93 milliseconds to 1.5 seconds, one to 12 cylinders, 2-stroke or 4-stroke, low-pass filtering, and signal clipping. The overall RPM range is 400 to 90,000 RPM (although at any one time, the operational range is typically +/- 30% around a nominal expected RPM). Precision is usually about +/- 10 RPM.
