The Baby Check app has been designed to help you decide whether your baby needs to see a health professional. The app will ask you to check your baby for 17 signs and symptoms and then give you advice as to what you should do next. Spotting early when a baby is very ill early can help in their treatment and recovery.
The app will ask you to select answers and these are colour coded either: red – high risk, amber – intermediate risk or green – low risk. The app then adds up your answers as you move through the screens. When you have finished the questions, you are able to see your previous answers and repeat the check if you need to.
The app can help you decide what to do if your baby is ill, but we always recommend that you trust your instincts. You should always seek support and advice from your midwife, health visitor, GP, NHS 111 or visit an emergency department if you are worried.
