Wee Princess Treasures vs Word Reader - Skinny Books 1 Usage & Stats

Wee Princess Treasures is an educational game that will entertain your child while helping them develop shape recognition and fine motor skills. The simple mechanisms of the game and its progression can be easily picked up by the youngest players. The varied shapes, colors and sounds provide a great experience while building pattern matching skills. Help the Princess find all her lost treasures throughout slowly increasing waves of difficulty. There are dozens of beautifully illustrated princess treasures in the game, including tiara’s, gems, shoes, earrings, necklaces, dresses, and wands. With each tap, the Princess provides feedback positively reinforcing the right selection. The app verbally congratulates your child when they tap the correct treasure, or it encourages them to try again if they didn’t tap the right one. The game gets progressively more difficult in each level as more and more treasures need to be collected, and as the treasures cascade faster and faster down the screen. There are an unlimited number of levels included in the game, so you and your child can continue to be challenged over and over.

Word Family Readers are an easy and fun way for children to learn to read. The stories use rhyming words that have the same ending sound but a different beginning sound. Chuck who had bad luck and Mox the ox and his box are just two of the entertaining stories. The Word Family Reader approach is endorsed by educators as a great way for young children to acquire a basic knowledge of phonics. There are no pictures in these books. When children read them, they are truly reading – not relying on pictures to recognize words. Word Family Readers – • start young children reading right away. • have 42 stories to be read. • provide audio versions of each story. • reinforce reading skills through games. • teach children to read and spell 200 one-syllable words. The two authors of this series, Peggy Gisler and Marge Eberts, are very experienced reading teachers who – • have written more than 50 textbooks for beginning readers that are used in schools across the country. • teach teachers how to teach reading. • hold reading specialist degrees (Ed.S.) in education. • won the Children’s Reading Round Table award for their beginning reader – Pancakes, Crackers, and Pizza.
