We Can Do Better vs REIMAGINE REMAKE REPLAY Usage & Stats

We Can Do Better is an art installation and augmented reality experience at Downhill House in Northern Ireland, from artist Joe Caslin and the Nerve Centre. Co-created with ‘The Kindred Collective’, a group of young women born after the Good Friday Agreement of 1998, the installation reflects some of the issues affecting young people in Northern Ireland today and offers a platform for their voices to be heard. Through a process of collaboration with Joe Caslin and the Nerve Centre, the collective has chosen to focus the project around four key themes, including their lived experience of Northern Ireland and their hopes and morals. You can use the app to bring Caslin’s epic new artwork to life, listen to stories and music from the collective, unlock personal messages left by the public and record and submit your own hopeful aspiration for the future. Important: - This app uses augmented reality. - No personal data store is stored or transmitted during this process. - Users are asked to consent that "I have read and agree to the terms and conditions". - When prompted, users must click "OK" to allow the app to have permission to use the camera, location and notification services. We Can Do Better is an IWM 14-18 NOW Legacy Fund commission in partnership with Nerve Centre, with additional support from Arts Council Northern Ireland.

We have produced this bespoke smartphone app to support your access to the information found in the Reimagine, Remake, Replay exhibition. The app is jam packed with mixed media elements - audio descriptions of text panels and objects, audio recordings of our own creative writing, video content and lots of other rich and immersive digital content. The Reimagine, Remake, Replay programme has been a partnership between over four thousand 16-25 year olds over four years - together with the Nerve Centre, National Museums NI, Northern Ireland Museums Council and Northern Ireland Screen - funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Kick the Dust programme. For this exhibition, a group of young people who have been active contributors across the programme were recruited to engage in a co-curation process, resulting in this first-of-its-kind exhibition in Ulster Museum and the final showcase of the RRR project.
