The Capitol Television department is the media outlet for Rhode Island’s General Assembly. Often compared to CSPAN, Capitol TV’s mission is to offer transparency in government by airing, on television andlive streaming on the internet, gavel-to-gavel video coverage of the House and Senate sessions, Committee meetings as well as special hearings and news conferences hosted by legislators. In addition to covering events, hearings and legislative sessions, Capitol Television produces programs on legislative subjects and issues thus educating the public on the actions of the Legislature.
