Based on extensive archival studies and using the latest methods of digital surveying and documentation, the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg are researching their rich treasure trove of cultural monuments. The results, generated with scientific standards, are converted into 3D models and made available free of charge in this app. In this new version of the app, you can marvel at the famous Heidelberg Palace Garden, the Hortus Palatinus. And the Hohentwiel Fortress on Lake Constance rises before your eyes in its impressive size and mightiness. But we're not only concerned with the past here, we also have the present and future of our gardens and castles in mind with this app: We offer content on the interesting flora and fauna in today's palace gardens. We provide information about endangered species and the effects of the environment and climate change on our garden monuments. Get to know what we are protecting! A special feature is the Speaking Images feature. It brings the different places to life. When viewing these images, individual details are selected, zoomed in and you listen to short audio episodes that bring the respective place to life via enchanting fictional dialogues. The app is part of the pilot project of the lighthouse project "Virtual Reconstruction of Cultural Properties" funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
