NG Wire vs PullCalc Usage & Stats

NG Wire™ is an iPhone and iPad app for professionals involved in the electrical construction industry. NG Wire™ utilizes popular National Electric Code® (NEC®) tables for general building wiring, conduit, and motor data. Users can look up values and handle general and detailed conduit fill calculations, based on these NEC® tables. The app streamlines the daily process of wire, motor, and conduit calculations for fast, efficient, and accurate results. NG Wire™ can go with you anywhere, from your office as you design, to in the field as you review or plan an installation and need quick reference to NEC® data. Gone are the days of using cumbersome code book paper or PDF look-up tables. The app includes 11 of the most used NEC® tables and calculation topics. These include: 1. Wire Ampacity 2. Ambient Temperature Correction Factor 3. More Than 3 Current Carrying Conductors in Conduit Adjustment 4. Equipment Grounding Conductor 5. Grounding Electrode Conductor 6. Increased Size Ground Wire 7. Conduit Fill Tables 8. Percent Fill Calculations 9. Minimum Conduit Cover Requirements 10. 1-Phase Motors 11. 3-Phase Motors To use the NG Wire™ app you must sign up for either a monthly or annual subscription. New subscriptions will start with a free trial that is the full version of the app. After the trial period, subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled, and will be charged via your Apple iTunes account. You can manage your subscription in account settings after purchase. Your subscription gives you access to future versions that will include updated table data and calculations from the NEC®. Future versions will allow you to pick the data year that you would like to use from a list of years that are available. New data years will be added when released by the NEC® which typically happens every 3 years. Prior years data will remain in the app until there are no states in the USA that are using the data. Notice will be given prior to removing this data. For assistance: https://ngorange.com/contact-us Privacy policy and Terms of Service: https://ngorange.com/ng-wire-privacy-and-terms

Greenlee continues to drive efficiency with PullCalc, an app that helps electricians and contractors approximate the pull force needed to install an electrical cable inside of conduit. Data is entered by "legs" and each leg is considered to be a straight run of conduit followed by a bend, except the last leg, which usually has no bend. The calculation for each leg requires the following information to be entered: - Wire size - Number of wires - Conduit I.D. - Duct Material - Material of the Cable Insulation - Coefficent of Friction* - Length of Leg - Bend angle - Vertical Rise *Due to unknown factors involved, it prohibits giving exact results, most notably the coefficient of friction. Lubrication, surface texture, and lay of the cable are never uniform along the length of a conduit run. Comparing the known forces of pulls against the estimated force should give you a guide as for a good coefficient of friction to use for similar future pulls, and a table with some suggested starting points for the coefficient of friction of well-lubricated cable is a drop down option in the app. If lubricant is not used, triple the values in the table.
