Road to Freedom NC app analytics for December 17

The Road to Freedom: North Carolina encourages visitors and North Carolinians alike to uncover histories of African American contributions, agency, and sacrifice in the cause of freedom during the broadly defined Civil War-era (1830-1890). It unleashes the power of both perspective and place and introduces historical figures that have been given little voice until now. This application allows you to interact with these stories in various ways. You can explore Road to Freedom sites at large or discover this profound history through tour collections for particular North Carolina regions and themes. Made possible through a grant from the State of North Carolina, the American Battlefield Trust’s Road to Freedom NC application will serve as a supplemental resource to the upcoming printed Road to Freedom: North Carolina map and brochure. Collaborative in its creation, the initiative was supported by the efforts of Civil War Trails and the African American Heritage Preservation Foundation.
