Irrigation App vs Rice Irrigation Usage & Stats
The Irrigation Scheduler App is designed to assist farmers and irrigators in adapting to changes in available soil moisture availability. It provides timely information of water application to meet crop requirements. This mobile application is a refined adaptation of an existing Excel-based scheduler. The previous Excel version had limitations in terms of flexibility and adaptability. To offer more convenience and visual support for daily use by irrigators, this project introduces a smartphone version that is accessible across various platforms.

This mobile application provides rice farmers with an easy way to develop a multiple inlet rice irrigation plan. The user enters flow rate information and the program provides proper pipe size. The user can enter or interactively outline each levee using aerial photography or GPS levee files. The user also designates pipe placement interactively. The program provides hole and blue gate settings for each levee. The plan also provides pipe size, thickness, length and number of rolls for each field. The final plan can be saved and emailed as a pdf. Plans can be developed and accessed on multiple devices.
