Things - Voice vs TAIP - Baby Audio Usage & Stats
Things - Voice is a simple one-knob "throw it on and it sounds good" compressor for voice-over and vocals. Based on our channel strip Dials it gives you everything you need to make your voice loud yet smooth. The compressor is an unusual and complex design from a German 1950 radio broadcast instrument. If you desire to get even closer to that unit's vintage tone, add authentically modded tube gain with the saturation button. For an authoritative bass boost we have added a rather euphonic EQ that excites just the right frequencies. This is the seventh plugin in our ongoing collaboration with Berlin musician and video personality Hainbach.

Warm up your sound
TAIP brings the true sound and behavior of analog tape to iOS with the power of AI.
Use it to add organic saturation and life to any source that needs a little extra spark.
About TAIP
TAIP offers a faithful, AI-based emulation of a beloved vintage tape machine from the early 70s. You’ll get the same harmonic richness and nonlinear magic as the classic hardware with features that take you beyond the limits of the original.
TAIP’s unique approach to emulation uses a neural network in place of traditional DSP techniques to accurately decipher the magic characteristics of tape.
The result is a happy marriage between classic sound and modern versatility. And we encourage you to drive it hard!
TAIP Features:
- Drive:
TAIP’s most important parameter - add a subtle touch of warmth or extreme saturation (or anything in between).
- Mix:
Add tape saturation in parallel with the dry signal. Or combine the “Wear” and “Mix” parameters to create tape flanging.
- Model:
”Single” brings you one tape emulation, while “Dual” combines two tape machines in a series under the hood.
- Lo / Hi-Shape:
Saturates the low/high end more or less than the rest of the frequency spectrum.
- Glue:
Exaggerates the compression effect that naturally occurs in tape recordings.
- Noise:
Adds more tape noise – or removes it entirely.
- Presence:
Brings back the brightness that gets lost on tape recordings.
- Wear:
Recreates the instabilities of a worn-out tape machine and subtly alters the tape speed.
- Input:
Lets you distort the signal more - or less - without affecting the output level.
- Auto-Gain:
Lets you add more drive while keeping a consistent plugin output.
