Almanac for a Walled City is a site-responsive, immersive sound artwork created by the Department of Dreamtime for Derry’s historic city walls.
Taking the form of an interactive soundwalk accessed through a geolocated app, Almanac for a Walled City takes inspiration from the importance of almanacs and weather forecasting in Irish history to speculate on the future of Derry, as listeners walked along the city’s 400-year-old walls.
Surveying today's existing landscape, listeners will reflect on Derry's current place in ecological history, while contemplating how the relationship between our society and our environment might change over the next 400 years, as it is shaped by our ever-changing weather.
Almanac for a Walled City has been created in collaboration with the Nerve Centre and is supported by the ESB Brighter Future Arts Fund in partnership with Business to Arts.

Night Walk for Edinburgh is a 50 minute walk, best viewed at dusk, which takes you through the closes and backstreets of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Following a film on your tablet or smart phone and a soundtrack on your headphones, you will walk up Advocate’s Close and along a route that weaves around the Royal Mile before returning to where you started, unravelling a disjointed tale – part game- playing, part surrealistic poetry, perhaps even a murder mystery – layered with history, invention and memories.
