The Noise Begins is about tinnitus. It is also an escape from tinnitus, driven by a belief that knowledge can be healing.
It is a piece of audio in two parts.
Part one, The Noise Begins, is about living with tinnitus, what it is, why it’s there.
You’re able to adjust the tone and, when the music starts, you’re able to adjust three seperate volume levels:
Lateral - the science
Medial - the people
Inhibitory - the music
Part two, The Dream State, is an escape, a sound-journey created to distract you from the noise for a while.
The two parts are independent of each other - listen to whichever you feel most drawn.
The Noise Begins is an experiment, an attempt to create something beautiful out of something debilitating.
It is sound, music and neuroscientific research.
There is no recreation of a tinnitus sound in the piece.
