Introducing Dah-Varsity: Learn STEAM with a Cool Game!
Dah-Varsity is a game created by a Black father-son duo, Damola, and Wole Idowu.
They co-founded Toyz Electronics. Learn about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) and entrepreneurship by gaming!
In this game, you'll explore different STEAM topics like cars, math, music, books, space, and creating things. It's a chance for you to learn while playing!
You'll also be inspired by Damola and Wole's incredible story. They are both really creative and smart. Damola started studying engineering at 15 at Syracuse. He majored in Mechanical Engineering and Economics at Syracuse University at 16! He won a competition for designing something cool at Howard University when he was 18. Wole graduated from high school at 15. He even appeared on a TV show called "20 Under 20 Transforming Tomorrow" on CNBC. He went to Carnegie Mellon University. He got a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and business at 20.
Dah-Varsity is a special game that you can play anywhere. It's available in more than 100 languages, so kids all around the world can play it! The idea for the game came from Damola when he was studying at Howard University. He thought of something called Superhero Rap. In Superhero Rap, you imagine a perfect world and use STEAM ideas to solve problems and become a superhero!
This game will teach you how to solve problems and think in a smart way that's related to your own life.
Dah-Varsity was made at Carnegie Mellon University. You can play it on your phone, TV, computer, and soon on game consoles too!
Damola and Wole have taught STEAM to more than 4000 students. They used their experience to make this game even better.
When you play Dah-Varsity, you'll also find resources for cool activities you can do after school. You can connect with programs that help you prepare for college. And you'll learn about different jobs that match your interests in STEAM!
