Suspension Yoga- Suspension Yoga is an equipment based Yoga class incorporating the earth, air, and space between. This class highlights support throughout each asana, including inversions, which allow for decompression of the spine. Inversions stimulate the lymphatic system, and help move toxins out of the body. Suspension Yoga can be strengthening, lengthening, and restorative. This practice of Yoga is accessible to all levels, and is encouraged to those with any previous injury, especially in relation to joint or muscle weakness, or pain. The Yoga swing supports the weight of the body, allowing less weight on any previous injury. Beginner- Beginner suspension yoga is to get you more familiar with the equipment, and how to play on it. In this class, we will ask questions, move slowly, and gain comfort, and confidence on the yoga swing. We may move into inversions, but that is always optional. Restorative- Restorative suspension yoga is slow, and steady. We will utilize the yoga swing to assist in more passive asana, whether on the ground, or in the air. In this class, we will hold asana for a longer period of time, settling into softness. All Levels- All levels suspension yoga is all, but specifically for those who feel comfortable enough on the swing, with less instruction. In this class, we will move from the ground, up, and upside down. Traditional Yoga- This class incorporates the practice of Pranayama or Breathing, to center oneself, and be present with ones own mind, and body. You will be guided through a sequence, consisting of Traditional Surya Namaskar, along with standing, and seated Asanas. This repetitive slow flow, and length of time held in each Asana, enhances a meditative focus, creating a unified state of Presence. Meditation- Meditation is a practice of presence, and is beyond contemplation. It is a focus of the breath, and a clearing of the mind, over time. Meditation reduces stress, anxiety, and balances the nervous system.
