VIBRACONNECT vs EpiGard Usage & Stats
Most of the 400+ million diabetic patients in the world may be unaware of the looming threat of foot ulcers leading to amputation. High glucose in the blood can lead to neuropathy - damage of nerve cells and loss of sensation, especially on the foot. Hidden injuries are not felt, do not heal, become ulcers, and if untreated lead to gangrene and require amputations - ranging from toe to entire leg. Every 30 seconds, there is one patient who loses his limb because of diabetes. There are an estimated 2 lakh diabetic foot amputations in India every year, leading to disability and further aggravation of the diabetic condition. This can be prevented by early screening for neuropathy. Ayati has come up with VIBRASENSE, a diabetic foot screener on which patients will place the foot and the report will be generated in 50% less time compared to current solutions. VIBRACONNECT application is developed to support VIBRASENSE for generating and sharing the reports. It also enables monitoring the diabetic patients, if they are progressing towards neuropathy.
