Az alkalmazás célja bemutatni a Szegedi Tudományegyetem Füvészkertjének növényeit és rendezvényeit. A kert egyes növényeiről átfogó képet nyújtó, fotókkal illusztrált ismertető segítségével azt is megtudhatja:
•milyen aktuális programokkal várja látogatóit a Füvészkert
•ki alapította és hogyan vált az ország egyik legnagyobb botanikus kertjévé.
A Füvészkert bejárásához a ’Séta’ menüpontban található térkép lehet segítségére. Az egyes séta állomások egy-egy növénygyűjteményt, társulást mutatnak be néhány mondatban, melyekhez hanganyag is tartozik.
A Füvészkert számos programmal várja látogatóit egész évben. Érdemes rendszeresen frissíteni az alkalmazást, mert a menüpontba folyamatosan kerülnek újabb és újabb események. Az alkalmazáson belül könnyen kezelhető módon megtalálja a benne szereplő növényeket sorrendbe rendezve vagy adott szempontok szerint csoportosítva. A főmenü ’Információk’ menüpontjában összegyűjtöttük a kerttel kapcsolatos legfontosabb közérdekű tudnivalókat, így a nyitva tartásról, a jegyárakról illetve az intézmény elérhetőségéről tájékozódhat.
A ’Magunkról’ menüpontban megismerkedhet a kert történetével, a növények betelepítésével, gondozásával 1922-től egészen napjainkig. Emellett a Füvészkert fő tevékenységeit is bemutatja, mely elsősorban a gyűjteménykezelés, de mint egyetemi egység, az oktatást és kutatást, ismeretterjesztést is kiemelt feladatának tekinti az intézmény.
