Gates Design Power
Design Power Mobile is the next installment of Gates’ digital innovation toolkit, bringing the power of our Design Power desktop application directly to your mobile device.
The Design Power Mobile App provides access to Gates engineering tools and accurate and up-to-date product data wherever you are, at any time.
Design Power simplifies work for engineers and maintenance specialists by offering various modules for convenience and efficiency, including:
- Design Flex Pro: Quickly and accurately design industrial synchronous or V-belt drive systems that fit your specific design parameters so you can determine every potential belt drive solution for your application. The Design Flex Pro module can determine proper installation tension, calculate belt pull, and estimate the energy and cost savings of replacing a roller chain with a Gates synchronous belt drive.
- Facility Management: This module allows you to keep track of all your drives in a facility so you can receive notifications for routine maintenance and quickly see what drives need your attention. Easily access original installation specifications like install date, tension settings, and products used. Use Facility Management to make changes or updates to a design and collaborate with coworkers and distributor employees by adding them to the facility contacts.
- Sonic Tension Meter: Uses the built-in mobile device microphone to estimate the tension level of your belt drives. The proper tension measurements ensure that each drive runs smoothly and efficiently.
- RPM Meter: Uses a combination of your device’s camera flash and adjustable strobe frequency to estimate the speed of the belt drive. Get the speed inputs needed with little information about its operating condition, all without disturbing the current drive.
- Sound Meter: Uses your device’s microphone to estimate the noise level of each belt drive, helping you identify potential HSE requirements around hearing protection and compare drives to alert you to the location of worn or damaged components.
- Distance Meter: Uses the built-in mobile device camera to estimate the center distance of your belt drive. The Distance Measurement Tool makes measuring hard-to-reach drives easier than ever.
Among these exciting new tools, The Design Power Mobile App allows our users to keep track of and update all their projects in one place. You can receive routine maintenance notifications sent from the app to reduce downtime while increasing efficiency throughout the organization.
The Design Power Mobile application developed by Gates is a wide-ranging solution available in 15 different languages, serving users all over the globe completely free of charge.
