Platzrunde.DE vs Enroute Flight Navigation Usage & Stats
"Platzrunde.DE" is an application for the iPhone/iPod or iPad and includes all the VFR Charts for the airfields and helicopter landing sites in Germany.
We have integrated all maps of the French AIP for no costs.
You need a registered account for downloading the content or update maps.
Registration is free, but for map updates you have to pay a fee.
During this time, there are monthly updates of the maps.
The download can be renewed at any time after the activation expired.
After expiration the app works as normal, but there are no more updates available.
The switch to an annual update cycle is also due to licensing reasons.
The update of maps is done automatically via a download function in the App.
The Download for the VFR-AIP Germany includes:
- 454 Airport
- 315 Heliports
- 1398 Maps
- ca. 700 MByte
All maps are copyright by DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung).
For the French VFR-AIP:
- 419 Airports
- 232 Heliports
- 1200 Maps
- ca. 140 MByte
All maps are copyright by SIA.
Maps are not for operational use.
The App is running out iPhoneOS Version 12.0.
The map search is as easy as searching the phone book of the iPhone.
For easier access the maps are divided in Airports and Helicopter landing sites (Heliports).
In addition to the basic search and selection offers the App following functions:

Enroute is a non-commercial flight navigation app written by flight enthusiasts for VFR pilots. Designed to be simple, functional, and elegant, it takes the stress out of your next flight.
Enroute features a moving map similar in style to the official ICAO maps. Your current position and your flight path for the next five minutes are marked, and so is your intended flight route. A simple tap gives you all the information about airspaces, airfields, and navaids – complete with frequencies, codes, elevations, and runway information.
Our aeronautical maps are free, receive weekly updates, and cover large parts of the world. Selected maps show traffic circuits and flight procedures for control zones.
Enroute supports essential flight planning. It allows you to quickly and easily compute distances, courses, and headings. It gives you an estimate for flight time and fuel consumption. If the weather turns bad, the app will show you the closest airfields for landing, complete with distances, directions, runway information, and frequencies.
There is no advertising and no commercial “pro”-version of the app. We do not spy on you. You do not need to register for “membership.” And we do not hassle you with e-mails. We do not even have or want your address!
