Easy Retirement Calculator vs Pension Plan Guide Calculator Usage & Stats
Do you know if you can retire early? Do you know if your current savings plans are enough? Do you need to put more money into your 401k each year?
This Easy Retirement Calculator keeps it simple for easy high-level planning and comparing different scenarios. (How much more would you have at retirement if you increase your savings, or if your investments make higher interest?)
This application is about giving you the tools you need to estimate your retirement years. The calculator lists the assumptions on the front page, and lets you pick your own options
This retirement calculator takes inflation fully into account. Many similar calculators ignore inflation, which is a grave mistake. Even assuming a modest inflation rate of 3%, $100 today will only have the purchasing power of $55, 20 years from now. It is extremely important to take inflation into account when planning for retirement.
This app lets you make all the decisions:
Choose your current age and age of planned retirement
Choose the rate of inflation (defaulted to the standard 3%)
Choose the rate of return on your investments. You are able to calculate different rates of return on different investments, if desired.
Choose your current Savings and 401k balances
Choose how much you plan to add to your savings accounts each year. This will be automatically indexed to the rate of inflation.
Choose your life expectancy age or "end of retirement" date to see how much you would be able to spend each year of retirement
OR
Choose the spending amount you need to maintain your desired standard of living, and see how many years your nest egg would last.
This application lets YOU make the choices regarding inflation and rate of return / interest rate. A small change in these rates can have a drastic effect on projected income. With this app, YOU get to make that choice. All rates are defaulted at startup to fairly standard rates.
Save your various retirement scenarios for later retrieval, and to compare against each other.
This application is Ad-free. It does not try to sell you financial services, or attempt to persuade you to invest in any particular stocks or bonds.

On top of the pension calculator, our guide consists of 5 main subjects (a few short lessons each):
* Learn about the 401K - In the United States, a 401(k) plan is a tax-qualified, defined-contribution pension account defined in subsection 401(k) of the Internal Revenue Code. Under the plan, retirement savings contributions are provided (and sometimes proportionately matched) by an employer and deducted from the employee’s paycheck before taxation. We will learn about 401k Tax consequences, 401K rollover, 401K Withdrawal of funds, and 401K Technical details
* What is Roth IRA? (Individual Retirement Arrangement) is a certain type of retirement plan that is generally not taxed, provided certain conditions are met. A Roth IRA can be an individual retirement account containing investments in securities, usually common stocks and bonds, often through mutual funds. We will present the Roth IRA Advantages and Disadvantages
* Different kinds of Retirement plans - A pension is a fixed sum to be paid regularly to a person, typically following retirement from service. There are many different types of pensions, including defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, as well as several others. We will discuss Employment-based pensions (retirement plans), Social and state pensions, and Disability pensions.
* What is a defined contribution plan? In a defined contribution plan, contributions are paid into an individual account for each member. The contributions are invested, for example in the stock market, and the returns on the investment (which may be positive or negative) are credited to the individual’s account. We will understand, give examples, talk about Hybrid and cash balance plans, Contrasting types of retirement plans, and more
* Learn about your retirement plan benefits - Retirement plans may be classified as defined benefit or defined contribution according to how the benefits are determined. A defined benefit plan guarantees a certain payout at retirement, according to a fixed formula which usually depends on the member’s salary and the number of years’ membership in the plan. A defined contribution plan will provide a payout at retirement that is dependent upon the amount of money contributed and the performance of the investment vehicles utilized.
* Bonus – free credit score mini-course
We've added a few extra tools to help you get the most out of the app: An embedded notebook to use while going through the mini-course, a live news feed (that will get updated all the time with news, bonuses, tips, and updates), a lesson scheduling system (helping you complete the course in your own time), and more.
