The Bauhausler Franz Ehrlich in Buchenwald. An Audio Walk
In 1937, Franz Ehrlich, a former student at the Bauhaus Dessau, was sent to Buchenwald concentration camp as a political prisoner. During his imprisonment, he designed the famous inscription “Jedem das Seine” (“To Each His Own”) at the camp gate. After his release in 1939, he worked as an architect for the SS.
