sqsl Latch vs Fundamental2 Usage & Stats

sqsl Latch is a conceptual MIDI controller and sequencer designed for working with evolving drone, textural or soundscape synthesizer patches. It can send out MIDI notes, pitch bend and CC values. There are 16 groups split into 2 banks (a, b, c, … p). Groups have assignable MIDI channel, color and 8 Continuous Controllers (CC). When user touches one of the pads, note is activated and is held on until new touch (on the same pad) is registered. Left slider controls the velocity of note to be activated. Every group has a looper able to record note state changes - phrases. Order and velocity of recorded notes is automatically shuffled after phrase restarts (can be optionally prevented by activating group’s LOCK button).  Phrase playback speed is adjustable (CLOCK and DIVIDER parameters). Phrase can be synchronised - set to restart automatically with previous group's loop. Synchronisation can be set to happen on every pass, every second, third... up to 16th and can be set to be ignored randomly (probability setting 0-100%). Group parameters can be adjusted using sliders or modulated by internal randomiser with adjustable range (RANGE and RANGE 2 parameters) and speed (per group LAG control - left-most slider). Apart user definable CCs, each group has following MIDI parameters: MOD (mod wheel), BEND (pitch bend), VOL (volume), EXP (expression), PAN (pan), FOOT (foot controller), TOUCH (aftertouch/channel pressure). Group parameters related to phrase playback are: CLOCK (resolution and playback speed), SYNC with divider (loop synchronization), NOTE SKIP (randomly skipping notes events 0-100%), SYNC SKIP (randomly skipping sync events 0-100%), DIVIDE (integer group's CLOCK divider), LOOP (loop or one-shot setting), SHIFT (degree offset with selected scale). LAG can be applied to parameter changes - when new value is selected, change does not happen immediately but value is transitioned smoothly based on LAG time (left-most slider). Setup setting (CC numbers, channels, colors, and MIDI output) are saved and recalled when app is restarted. Loops, CC values, parameters and their modulation states can be written to preset positions for later recall. For detailed description visit https://www.seqsual.com/latch Important notes: - Latch does not make any sounds on its own, it generates MIDI messages (notes, pitchbend and CC values). - Latch does not synchronise to incoming external MIDI clock. - Latch was designed for full-size iPads and is not recommended for iPad Mini users.

Fundamental is a sound synthesis software combining the different roots of electronic music history. Its wave engine is a faithful sonic recreation of a vintage Rohde&Schwartz vacuum tube oscillator ( having been widely used at WDR by Stockhausen ) Thanks to sonicLAB audio engine design, Fundamental leaves behind the limitations of the original device by proposing complex modulation possibilities, stochastic distributions addressing the sonic parameters like frequency , gain, stereo panning etc. in continuum, which has not been applicable until now. The Fundamental software presents you 8 instances of this vintage sine wave generator with all the artifacts and richness of a vintage equipment. That combination is we believe something you should experience. Direct Link for manual : https://www.sonic-lab.com/Fundamental/Fundamental2iOS_manual.pdf Fundamental2 brings following new features to the Fundamental1, basically now you can create organic, endless moving textures. (for iOS standalone and AUv3 ) - Ring Modulator, 7 individual modulator oscillators and one carrier oscillator. - A morphing engine which lets you gradually morph between four instances of Fundamental scenes. Also a stochastic manipulation on the 2D morphing panel is possible. - True real time gradual transition between tuning scales. - Rotary Encoder midi controller mapping for high resolution oscillator frequency and gain control with midi hardware. - One can send midi note-on messages to each Fundamental oscillator on discrete midi channels. - A morse code simulator is available on each GEN (sonicLAB LFO design ) which can create custom morse signals to modulate the relevant GEN outputs. - new envelope type "Ernd". Whether you play live electronics, compose for media or just insterested in early electronic music, Fundamental2 is a strong tool. Some of the main features of Fundamental1: ( iOS standalone and AUv3 ) - unique polymorphing wavetable synthesis without any compromise in data content and precision. - 4 dynamic wavetables being rendered for each voice to represent infinitesimal steps of frequency and gain combinations between 1HZ – 3800Hz of the original vacuum tube oscillator. - 8 simultaneous voices each with custom freq, gain, boost, panning and modulation settings. - Custom or harmonic frequency distribution of voices with variable spread ratio and tuning table. - 4 independent stochastic modulations for each voice (32 in total) addressing all parameters with various continuous, discrete distributions and also standard waveforms. - Full MPE support with various configuration possibilites. - Independent Attack / Release envelopes for each voice with various modes, AR times can be set to degrees of randomness. - Vintage oscillator or pure sine wave mode. Recommended iPAD model : A12 processor or higher. Due to screen size challenges, iPAD Mini models are not recommended.
