STARMUS is a global festival of science communication and art, where both are combined in the most harmonious way. It is associated with the names of Steven Hawking, Brian May, Alexei Leonov and other world-renowned artists, scientists and musicians.
STARMUS was launched in 2011 in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) and later was also organized in Norway and Switzerland. In all editions of the festival Nobel Laureates, scientists and musicians put the effort to communicate science in an easy and fascinating way, hold talks on new achievements of humanity in the area of astronomy, astrophysics, natural sciences, that help make this world a better place.
STARMUS was founded by astrophysicist Garik Israelyan and the legendary guitarist of Queen, astrophysicist Brian May, becoming a platform that unites world-renowned scientists, Nobel prize laureates, astronauts, and the brightest minds of science, art and technology. In the scope of this festival, they are sharing their experience, knowledge and the latest inventions with attendees to simplify the process and to inspire more youth and participants to explore the world of science. The aim of the festival is to inspire and educate the next generation of explorers and regenerate the spirit of discovery, to engage humanity in the biggest questions of our time.
The STARMUS speakers address questions that have risen and need rapid solutions, meanwhile helping in finding ways in such questions as global warming, ecological issues, exploration of universe for the purpose to find new home for humanity.
STARMUS is the only festival in the world connecting the brilliant minds and Nobel Prize laureates from science, education, technologies, as well as renowned musicians and artists on the same stage to collaborate and to enhance science communication, to popularize it through interdisciplinary cooperation.
The most prestigious the Stephen Hawking Science Medal awarding ceremony is also one of the key events of the festival. Named after the greatest scientist of the 20th and early 21st centuries, Stephen Hawking, and sponsored by STARMUS, it is an ambitious award which recognizes the merit of popular science on an international level.
During the previous five editions held in Tenerife (Spain), Trondheim (Norway), and Zurich (Switzerland), Starmus Festival has hosted 25 Nobel Prize laureates alongside such eminent speakers as Stephen Hawking, Neil Armstrong, Hans Zimmer, and many others. Starmus Advisory Board is a constellation of prominent scientists, musicians and innovators, such as Brian May, Emmanuelle Charpentier, Jill Tarter, Peter Gabriel and Tony Fadell.
The VI Starmus will be held in Yerevan, Armenia on September 5-10, 2022. Through Starmus camp and close cooperation with several schools and universities, it will involve thousands of students and around 100.00 participants from Armenia and other countries of the region. It will provide an unprecedented opportunity for Armenians to become part of the science and art days, and for participants out of Armenia to explore Armenian scientific and cultural heritage in addition to participation in the festival. In the scope of the festival series of events such as lectures, forums, scientific round-table discussions, art and music events, scientific camps are to be held in Armenia to showcase the importance of science in our lives and to bring it closer to the young generation.
STARMUS VI Science and Art Festival will be held in Armenia entitled "STARMUS VI. 50 Years on Mars " and will be dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first soft landing on Mars by mission “Mars 3”. Should be highlighted the fact that “Mars 3” took to the Red Planet the “Prop-M” rover designed by the Armenian engineer Alexander Kemurdzhian.

WCIT 2021, ICT the great equalizer
The WCIT is a signature event of the World Information Technology & Services Alliances (WITSA) - a consortium of leading information and communication technology associations of the world. The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) is one of the most important and prestigious ICT events in the world.

Bangladesh is the host of the World Congress on Information Technology 2021 (WCIT 2021), to be held on November 11-14, 2021. The theme of the 25th WCIT is “ICT - The Great Equalizer.”
Over the last three decades, information and communications technologies have transformed the economy, businesses, and society to remove barriers, expand opportunities and enhance the quality of life, social wellbeing, community development, and economic progress. ICT shave been instrumental in accelerating nations’ growth and prosperity across the world. The continued innovation and accelerated pace of technology adoption have empowered us to be more resilient and evolve collectively transcending borders and limits. This year, WCIT 2021 Bangladesh will address technology’s greatest achievements to date- becoming “The Great Equalizer” of our collective future. Furthermore, WCIT 2021 will shed light on the fourth phase of the digital revolution, which is evolving before our eyes at an exponential rather than a linear pace, disrupting almost every industry in every country and fundamentally altering the way we live, work, and relate to one another. As the Great Equalizer, in its scale, scope, and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before. The WCIT is based on four main pillars: speeches, exhibitions, B2B meetings, and social events.
