LT StockPicks vs Stock-Insight Usage & Stats
Stock selections are made using a proprietary computer-generated technical analysis system. No fundamental analysis is used. No personal judgement or emotions are involved. The stocks being reviewed consist of the DJIA (30 stocks), DJTA (20 stocks), S&P 100 (100 stocks), Nasdaq 100 (100 stocks) and some additional stock selections that have had a history of not being too volatile (120 stocks), which makes them good candidates for a "long-term" portfolio. A stock shown in the Model Portfolio is considered a "hold" until a sell signal occurs, at which point the position shall be closed. The Model Portfolio displays a short-term indicator that helps identify if the stock is a "buy" the next day (GREEN bar), or if it should just be held (YELLOW bar), if currently owned. Sells are always identified with a RED bar.
You will be surprised at how simple and profitable this Mechanically-Traded Model Portfolio of mine is. I am not after the quick profit in "fast-moving" stocks, but rather a fairly steady rock-solid return by buying stocks that have just started their upward move, which has typically been fairly lengthy. This page is auto-updated thru the day. since this is a long term portfolio, timely entries/exits are not that critical in the portfolio's overall performance results.
The stocks listed in this Model Portfolio have been very consistent at producing average returns greater than 50%/year. When a stock is identified as a "sell", it means to exit the position at market open the next day. Any losses on exited positions are kept small while the stocks maintained in this Model Portfolio are allowed to grow-and-grow. New money is added to any of the current positions, at your discretion.
NOTE: If this portfolio can achieve a consistent 50% annual return, I am satisfied and it will have beaten the vast majority of mutual Fund / hedge fund managers out there. check it out for yourself by pulling up any stock chart and compare the timing of my buy/sell signals against it. . .you'll be impressed.
